EXCLUSIVE: British Design Takes on West Hollywood
MILAN — Luxury furniture and interior brands Christopher Guy and Clive Christian Interiors have come together to introduce British elegance to the palm-lined streets of Los Angeles. Opening Thursday on 8737 Melrose Avenue, in the West Hollywood Design District, it is the first time they have opened a joint showroom.
To further convey the concept of opulence, the two companies collaborated with French heritage brand Baccarat, which provided custom-designed crystal chandeliers and lighting installations throughout the 8,500-square-foot flagship space.

The Hollywood Design District was key for the firms, as it is known for its design community and affluent demographic and this location offers access to trendsetters and tastemakers in the interiors and lifestyle sectors, a spokesperson for both companies told WWD.
Christopher Guy was founded by Christopher Guy Harrison, who developed a curiosity for furniture making in the 1970s during his youth spent in part on the French Riviera. Today, the company makes contemporary furnishings — from seating to bedrooms, as well as mirrors and even art and decor. Christopher Guy designs, according to the company, have even captivated Hollywood, appearing in “The Devil Wears Prada” and “007 — Casino Royale.” Guy’s wife Kisa Harrison took over as chief executive officer following his passing in 2020.
Clive Christian started his business in the 1970s after purchasing and restoring a 19th-century manor house in Cheshire, in the northwest of England. Since then, his company has become known for its stately kitchens, furnishings and overall its cabinetry expertise, finished with what the company calls “Rolls Royce or Bentley”-worthy veneer. Today, Clive Christian Interiors has showrooms in Chicago, New York and New Jersey.
“Both brands have been built upon a founding ethos of exceptional craftsmanship and the iconic world of interior design in Los Angeles provides the ultimate stage for our partnership,” said Clive Christian Interiors CEO Jim Denos.
Punctuated with artwork by Los Angeles native Monica Ord, the space features several key pieces including Christopher Guy’s Chris X-legged seating, mirror collections, as well as the brand’s signature carved knot handles.
Among the Clive Christian Interiors highlights is the Opus kitchen designed by Oliver Deadman, which features a central island inspired by the patterns of an American ash tree, reflecting the intricacies of nature, while bringing to the fore the firm’s engineering expertise and high-quality materials.
