Though last year’s ELLE DECOR A-List grand event took place while wildfire smoke made the city look eerily dystopian, this time around absolutely nothing could dampen our celebrations of the 2024 A-List talent roster. The Wednesday night extravaganza was generously hosted by the Fifth Avenue Hotel and chef Andrew Carmellini of NoHo Hospitality Group, who made sure the Prosecco kept flowing, the caviar bar (with an ice sculpture, no less) was fully stocked, and the soaring flower arrangements—courtesy Ron Hansford Design—were looking just as elegant as the guests.

The Fifth Avenue Hotel couldn’t have been a more fitting place to house the tastemaking designers, photographers, editors, and other creatives who came together for the span of one fleeting yet unforgettable evening. Restored to their former 19th-century grandeur by A-List mainstay Martin Brudnizki, the hotel’s interiors pay homage to Gilded Age maximalism (think antique mirror paneling, Murano glass chandeliers, and an obvious fondness for the colors emerald green and scarlet) while still keeping playfulness as part of the modus operandi. Old friends like Nate Berkus and Athena Calderone could be spotted reuniting with hugs and hearty conversation; debut designers on the list, including Elizabeth Graziolo and Augusta Hoffman, were given a proper welcome (many Champagne toasts were involved); and A-Lister Joe Nahem’s partner, Jeff Fields, even brought along his much-swooned-over pup.

The vibe of the night in one word? Exuberant—a perfect complement to the venue’s aesthetic and just the right way to describe how we feel about another year of spotlighting the brightest minds in design. Per that old saying about pictures and a thousand words, scroll below to glimpse ELLE DECOR’s biggest night of the year in action.
