New York Fashion Week is back. While the official Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) schedule for NYFW does not begin until Friday, Sept. 6, festivities are unofficially underway.
Below, a running look at the highlights from New York Fashion Week’s spring summer ’25 season, updated throughout the week from FN editors.
Naomi Campbell Accepts Honor at Harlem’s Fashion Row Event
Naomi Campbell accepted the Fashion Icon Award at Harlem’s Fashion Row Fashion Show & Style Awards on Sept. 3. The “Night of the Legends” event which also honored Costume Designer Shiona Turini and Harper’s Bazaar Editor-In-Chief Samira Nasr, while showcasing the work of Aaron Potts, LaTouché and Nicole Benefield. In her acceptance speech, Campbell looked back on her career and expressed her gratitude for the award and acknowledged all the work that is still needed in terms of equality in the fashion industry. “This award is as much theirs as it is now my daughter’s,” Campbell said. “I am deeply grateful for this recognition. I don’t see it as accumulation. Rather, I see it as a call to action. Yes, our industry has made strides, but we still have a long way to go.”
Proenza Schouler and Sorel Unveil New All-Weather Boot Collab
Proenza Schouler kicked off New York Fashion Week early on Wednesday, Sept. 4. Along with
its spring ’25 collection, the label debuted a limited-edition footwear collaboration with Sorel on the runway. The collab — which marks Sorel’s first designer partnership since its Sorel x Chloé boot in 2017 — sees new iterations of the brand’s Caribou Mule and Caribou Chelsea Boot. The all-weather designs are crafted from a sleek leather in a palette of black, ochre and ecru. Each shoe features signature Proenza Schouler heavy contrast stitch for detailing, with a custom back logo tab.

Lucy Liu Celebrates the Premiere of Stuart Weitzman’s Campaign Film “How Lovely to Be a Woman”
On Sept. 5, actress Lucy Liu celebrated the premiere of Stuart Weitzman’s new campaign film, “How Lovely to Be a Woman” at the Crosby Street Hotel. Liu stars in the ad alongside Aly Raisman, Christy Turlington, Issa Rae and Ming Xi. The event also marked the launch of the Stuart Weitzman Stand Strong Series: Conversations About the Pleasures and Pressures of Modern Womanhood, Liu sat down with author Lydia Fenet, talking about success, motherhood, challenges in the entertainment industry and more. She said onstage, “When I started out over 30 years ago, things have changed quite a bit. I’ve always had this vision of what I wanted to do and where I wanted to go regardless of the face that nobody believed in me. I think that’s a very difficult way to start. In some ways it fueled me.”
Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet Spring 2025 Collection Unveiled
Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet unveiled its spring 2025 presentation at the Highline Stages on Sept. 7, where stars like Mary J. Blige — wearing thigh-high Bottega Veneta boots — admired an elaborate set of immersive installations. Models posed in a variety of detailed settings, ranging from a Victorian-esque library with lacy drapes to a wallpapered dining room complete with a china cabinet and fully set table. Matching these settings, models wore a number of colorful floral pieces in addition to polka-dot dresses, monochrome suits, striped sequined apparel and other spring-ready ensembles.
In addition to greeting guests including Paris Jackson, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan and Olivia Culpo, Bendet also caught up with Paris, Nicky and Kathy Hilton, with whom she maintains a close friendship. Speaking to FN, Bendet said of the Hiltons, “They have great style. They’re not being dressed by stylists and other people, they just are style icons. They are beautiful, they are smart, they are elegant. And they’ve just evolved so elegantly with every year of their career and lives.”
Kith Launches Collaboration with Giorgio Armani, Opens NYFW Pop-Up
Kith’s much-anticipated team up with Giorgio Armani is here and it includes three footwear styles.
According to the Italian luxury brand, the collaboration will include a chukka boot, hiker boot, and loafer to compliment the extensive range of men’s suits and apparel.
To launch the collection, Giorgio Armani and Kith will host a special pop-up experience at townhouse on the Upper East Side to coincide with New York Fashion Week. The pop-up is open to the public Sept. 6- Sept. 7 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and is located at 170 East 80th Street in Manhattan.
Palomo Spain Reveals Latest Capsule With Bimba Y Lola
Palomo Spain has revealed its latest collaboration with Bimba Y Lola at the designer’s NYFW show on Saturday. The chrysanthemum continues the floral magic that triggered the rose in the first affair between Bimba Y Palomo.
For this collection, the chrysanthemum, a flower that symbolizes passion and good fortune in oriental culture, expands in a large and unlimited size on golden brooches added to sandals and charms on handbags with chains, colossal rings, necklaces and earrings. The clutch with the silhouette of a prominent rose that eclipsed the first Bimba Y Palomo collection returns this season in new formats and colors such as pink and gold.
Early access to the Bimba Y Palomo capsule was available on Sept. 8 online immediately following the show.
DSW Provides Shoes at Christian Cowan
Designer Shoe Warehouse (DSW) partnered with Christian Cowan on the designer’s NYFW show. The retailer is the official footwear sponsor of the brand’s spring/summer 2025 runway show which took place on Sunday, Sept. 8, at the Blade East Helipad on the East River.
For the show, DSW provided five styles including the Nine West Fresh Pump, the Sam Edelman Hazel Pump, the Aldo Lala Pump, the Florsheim Tux Plain Toe Oxford and the Stacy Adams Gala Cap Toe Oxford.
PH5 Collabs with Charles & Keith on Capsule
AAPI-owned clothing label PH5 unveiled a new collaboration with footwear and accessories brand, Charles & Keith at the brand’s spring/summer 2025 show this week.
The capsule collection includes a shoe, bag and other items, launching next spring. The shoe from the exclusive capsule is a hybrid sneaker/mule in two colorways that mirrors the ready-to-wear label’s signature wavy cutout dresses:
The collection will be available on the Charles & Keith and PH5 websites in April 2025.
Stuart Weitzman Teams Up With Aknvas on Boot Range
Stuart Weitzman revealed its new Emerson capsule collection on the Aknvas spring 2025 runway during New York Fashion Week on Monday. The see-now, wear-now capsule features custom iterations of its new Emerson styles, a range of moto-inspired silhouettes defined by It-Girl energy and lug soles.
The collection features three styles: the Emerson Moto Boot, which is A tubo knee-high boot featuring a modern square toe, a lug sole and moto-inspired buckles; the Emerson Moto Tall Boot, an over-the-knee boot crafted with a modern square toe, a lug sole and moto-inspired buckles; and the Emerson Boot, a structured knee-high boot is defined by a modern square toe and a lug sole.
“I wanted to work with Stuart Weitzman because their craftsmanship perfectly aligns with the Aknvas vision – creating luxury clothes and footwear that empower women,” Christian Juul Nielsen, founder and creative director of Aknvas, said in a statement. “Their Emerson capsule collection embodies the strength, confidence, and boldness I envisioned for my runway collection.”
