Everybody Deserves A Massage Week, which happens from 17 to 23 July, is observed to promote the benefits of massages while raising awareness about the profession itself.

After a long day at work, a relaxing massage feels like the very thing we need to soothe our tense muscles. Massage increases oxygen and blood flow to our aching muscles, which encourages healing. But massage does more than relieve soreness.

It makes us feel good as it releases endorphins, a natural pain killer effective against stress, depression and anxiety. And if you’ve ever found yourself falling asleep during a massage, or getting a night of better sleep after a massage, it is because massage releases melatonin, the sleep hormone.
