Eva Longoria Shines in Stella McCartney, Taraji P. Henson Dons Pat Bo and More Stars at Critics Choice Association Celebration of Cinema & Television 2023

The Critics Choice Association hosted its 2023 Celebration of Cinema & Television: Honoring Black, Latino and AAPI Achievements on Monday in Los Angeles, shining a light on the influential actors of color in the industry.

Hosted by Starz’s “P-Valley” actor Nicco Annan, this year’s celebration included the cast of Warner Bros.’ “The Color Purple” (which includes Taraji P. Henson) receiving the Ensemble Award and Eva Longoria being handed the prestigious Breakthrough Director Award (Film) for her feature-length inspirational movie “Flamin’ Hot.”

Eva Longoria went full-on glamorous in a Stella McCartney gown with cutout crystal-braided detail. The long-sleeve, champagne-colored frock was from the designer’s fall 2023 ready-to-wear collection, which WWD reported marked a return to McCartney’s “equestrian roots.”

America Ferrera

America Ferrera put a high-fashion spin on bohemian dressing in a Hervé Léger maxidress with a white fringe skirt. The “Barbie” actress, who worked with stylist Karla Welch on her look, was the recipient of the Groundbreaker Award.

Taraji P. Henson shined in a sequin Pat Bo dress with asymmetrical detail. Collaborating with styling duo Wayman and Micah, the actress accessorized her gray gown with a shining choker and silver heels. Henson will appear on the big screen in a film adaptation of Broadway’s “The Color Purple,” which will premiere in theaters on Christmas Day.

Netflix’s “Beef” star Ali Wong joined fellow actors Steven Yeun and Lee Sung in a vibrant orange Christopher John Rogers dress. The colorful ensemble, from the designer’s pre-fall 2023 collection, featured a button-up top and a ruffled voluminous skirt that added a high-fashion touch to classic businesswear.

Career Achievement Award recipient Sheryl Lee Ralph brought geometric details to the carpet, arriving in a black gown with triangle-shaped embellishments. Styled by her daughter Icy Coco, Ralph’s gown incorporated the sheer trend with see-through mesh sleeves.
