Eva Longoria Lists 1924 Mediterranean Villa in Los Angeles (EXCLUSIVE)

SELLER: Eva Longoria
LOCATION: Los Angeles, CA
PRICE: $1,395,000
SIZE: 2,011 square feet, 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms

YOUR MAMA’S NOTES: Former “Desperate Housewives” star Eva Longoria has hoisted what listing descriptions call a “classic 1924 mediterranean villa” perched on a high point just south of the Hollywood Bowl in the historic foothills above Hollywood up for sale on the open market with a $1,395,000 price tag. Property records and other online resources show politically engaged actress — she spoke forcefully against Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump at the Democratic National Convention last week — purchased the property in January 2005 for $1,150,000 and current listings show the fancifully articulated Italianate house “oozes character and charm” with three bedrooms and three bathrooms in 2,011 square feet. It’s a long climb up a gated exterior stair to the deep and wide front porch that opens to an unexpectedly spacious two-story foyer with flagstone tile floor and curved staircase. Other rooms include an ample living room with coved ceiling and polished hardwood floors, small dining room set into a semi-circular bay lined with half of a dozen tall and slender arched windows, and an expensively equipped if arguably fairly generic galley style kitchen with black granite counter tops and designer stainless steel appliances. There’s also a “separate bonus room,” per listing description, plus a second floor master bedroom that opens to an awning shaded loggia/sleeping porch with panoramic over and through the trees city view.

In addition to the Los Angeles house now for sale and a 3,342-square-foot residence in a suburban, gated enclave north of San Antonio, TX, where one of her charitable foundations, Eva’s Heroes, is based, the philanthropic actress, married in May to businessman José “Pepe” Bastón, owns at least two other properties in Los Angeles. In August 2006 she shelled out $3.6 million for an 8,603-square-foot house in the Hollywood Dell neighborhood — that’s west of Beachwood Canyon and east of the 101 Freeway for all those not schooled on L.A. neighborhoods — and last year, in September 2015, she joined the real estate big leagues when she paid Tom Cruise $11.4 million for a multi-residence compound that sprawls across a private and gated, multi-acre promontory above Laurel Canyon in the Hollywood Hills.
