Ethan Ruan wins Best Actor at Taipei Film Awards
9 Jul - Ethan Ruan has recently won Best Actor at the 26th Taipei Film Awards.
As reported on HK01, the actor, who won the accolade for his performance in "The Pig, The Snake and The Pigeon", was not present to receive the award due to his work commitment in London and instead was represented by producer Lee Lieh.
However, the actor did have a speech prepared, where he dedicated his win to his late mother.
He expressed, "Just do it if you want! Why do you think so much? This was what my mother would occasionally tell me when she was still alive. After working for 20 years, I was shocked to realise that part of my life has already been integrated with the movies. The similarities and coincidences make people try their best to remain in awe when facing every performance."
"Thank you to the film industry, thank you to my mother for not giving up, and thank you to every crew member for your trust. For you. May the world be beautiful and people be at peace," he added.
