You won't be seeing as many posts from Erin Napier on your social feeds for a while. Today, the Home Town host announced on Instagram that she's going to make an effort to spend less time on social media.

Napier posted a photo of a neighborhood street with the sun shining through branches of a tall tree and the following caption: "The more I learn about social media, the more it frightens me so I’m going to make an effort to spend less time here. People weren’t built to know the opinions of thousands or even hundreds of their 'friends.' "The real world is a much nicer place, honestly. 🤩"

This isn't the first time Napier, who has more than 700,000 followers on Instagram, has expressed interest in wanting to distance herself from social media because of all those opinions inundating her platform. Back in July, Napier took to Instagram to announce that turning off her comment section until "2021 feels like a good move."

"It’s getting harder to shoulder every opinion from every direction at all times about everything when everyone is freaking out constantly," she wrote in the caption of the post. "There’s too much noise." Then she used a metaphor of making a bed to show why she thinks it's difficult to communicate on social media. "It’s like this: we’re each making a bed and can’t see how far the sheet is hanging on the other side, she writes. "We can’t see what we can’t see."
