Eric Wan saddened by "My Date with a Vampire" director's death
16 Jul - ATV actor Eric Wan recently expressed his sadness over the passing of director Billy Tang, who passed away earlier this month.
As reported on Mingpao, Eric, who worked with Billy in the hit drama, "My Date with a Vampire", was recently seen at the funeral of the said director before the body was cremated at Cape Collinson, saying that he wanted to bid Billy his last farewell.
"Billy was a good director. People who didn't really know him would have been surprised to find that he really liked to laugh. He laughed a lot," he said.
Talking about Billy's condition prior to his death, Eric stated that the director was battling throat cancer and was told by the doctor that he would only last four to five years. However, he persisted for seven to eight years.
"I once told him not to keep working, but he said that he was happier when he was working," he added.
Eric also admitted that he remained in contact with Billy throughout the last months of his life, and that the director left surrounded by his family.
"He loved his daughter and wife the most. I told him that he should not push himself too hard. In the end, he left in peace," he added.
Billy Tang was 69.
