Eric Suen reveals why he married Macy Chan
17 May - Eric Suen shared in a previous interview that he knew Macy Chan was the one he would marry three years ago, when he was facing the darkest days in his career.
While he didn't explain what he meant by that, the singer recently revealed the incident that sealed the deal for him.
According to Mingpao, Eric recalled the experience he had in mainland China a few years back, when he made an investment in a wine business.
The singer said at the time, he received an invitation to Shanghai for some television interviews, and brought Macy with him. However, upon arriving at the place of meet, he found out it was nothing but a scam, and was threatened by several men to pay millions of dollars for his life.
Eric said that the situation was very dangerous at the time, so he asked Macy to leave Shanghai without him. However, Macy refused to do so, saying that they only have each other.
Eric said that due to the threats, he wasn't able to live peacefully, and would carry a knife with him every day. He added that he almost suffered from depression.
"The situation lasted for several weeks. But in the darkest days of my life, Macy was there for me," he said.
Eric said he finally solved his financial issues and took the matter to the police.
The singer added that despite the bad experience he had while in Shanghai, he considered the city a memorable place for him and Macy, because of how it brought them closer than ever.
The couple is set to walk down the aisle in two receptions, to be held in June and July.
