Emma Thompson lined up for 'The Children Act'

Oscar-winner Thompson, famed for her roles in "Harry Potter" and "The Remains of the Day", has been granted the title of Dame in the annual roll call of the great and the good of British society

Emma Thompson could be set to appear in the upcoming adaption of "The Children Act."

The British actress is in talks to star in the movie based on the Ian McEwan novel of the same name, Deadline reports.

The film, which will be directed by Richard Eyre, will tell the story of UK judge Fiona Maye and her internal battle when faced with the case of a 17-year-old leukemia sufferer who rejects potentially life-saving treatment.

Producer Duncan Kenworthy, who worked with Thompson on the film "Love Actually," has also signed up to the project.
