Elyn Leong is now part of Chuang Asia's new girl group Gen1es
8 Apr – Malaysian Elyn Leong has successfully made it as part of the new girl group created through the reality show, "Chuang Asia: Thailand" (also known as "Produce Camp Asia 2024" in China).
On 6 April, Elyn bested other contenders to win one of the nine spots, after performing Girls Generation's "Into the New World" and performing a dance to "Be Mine".
She successfully made her debut in fifth place with more than 49 million votes.
During her speech, the singer expressed, "Thank you to all the fans for supporting me for my debut, and thank you to the programme team for giving me the stage to show my talent."
She also thanked her mother, who was in the audience, saying, "Mum, I did it!"
Elyn will be debuting as the members of Gen1es alongside Quao Yiyu, Wang Ke, Xueyao, Didi and Emma from China, Pailiu and Yean from Thailand and Ruan from Japan.
