Ellen DeGeneres’s Former Home in Beverly Hills Is on the Market for $38 Million
One of Ellen DeGeneres’s many former homes just hit the market—but it will set you back $38 million. Located in Beverly Hills, this single-family abode was built in 1966, and it boasts four bedrooms and seven bathrooms, across 5,286 square feet. DeGeneres purchased the dwelling for $15.995 million in 2015, before flipping it three years later and selling it for $35 million in an off-market deal. It’s one of many properties in the comedian’s vast real estate portfolio.
Some amenities of the home include .72 acres of land, an outdoor pool, and plenty of recently renovated rooms.
Both DeGeneres and the current homeowner, Sue Gross, had the property renovated while living here. Gross enlisted her longtime builder and general contractor, Justin Krzyston, of Stonehurst Group, to revamp the dwelling. He added two full bathrooms, “using waterworks plumbing fixtures and solid walnut, to build built-in cabinetry,” in addition to sandblasted white marble and custom granite limestone, Krzyston tells House Beautiful. Evidently, “Sue invested in customizing the property to her own style.”
Additionally, Krzyston turned a glam room into a bedroom with an en suite bathroom that boasts a private entrance and patio. “I enhanced the home’s IPE wood exterior around the entire facade of the property and courtyard,” Krzyston tells House Beautiful. “I also elevated the original 1966 firebox in the living room by cladding the wall and surrounded it with three pieces of stunning textured hand-raked limestone that spanned over 11 feet from the ground.”
