Eliza Sam: No more cutesy roles, please

17 Jan – TVB actress Eliza Sam has no plans to revamp herself as a sexier star now that she is married, though hopes to do more than just be your basic cutesy girl-next-door.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who spoke about her character in the drama, "Heart and Greed" recently, shared that she doesn't want to play a cute girl anymore now that she is married and is in her 30s.

"I hope to play different type of roles in future productions. It's not just playing a sexier role or an antagonist, I also hope to try my hands on playing other characters, be it stupid, ugly, or funny. People have to grow," she said.

On the other hand, when asked if she was pressured to do well in the drama, especially since the franchise helped shoot good friend Linda Chung to fame in the past, Eliza admitted that she did feel the pressure at first.

"I was stressed out thinking that the viewers will have expectations, but Linda told me to relax, to just enjoy the whole experience and try to do my best. I do cherish her support," she said.

At the same time, Eliza admitted that she tried her best to interpret her character her way instead of repeating Linda's performance.

"I hope that I have done my best to give everyone something new," she said.
