The Duchess of Edinburgh's latest look in Wolverhampton on Tuesday (2 May) embraced the warmer spring months with a bold combination of colours.

Opting for a rich green midi dress and bright orange handbag, The Duchess demonstrated the perfect way to execute the classic colour blocking trend. Her look even takes it a step further by choosing traditionally 'clashing' colours, which help bring out the vibrancy in each.

Sophie's green midi dress features mid-length sleeves and a flattering, full skirt which she cinched at the waist with a wide tan belt, co-ordinating the shade in her choice of court shoe heels.

The button-up detailing and lapels along the neckline make the summery dress feel a little more formal, while the bold green is off-set by her stunning orange handbag.

The Duchess was in Wolverhampton with her husband, Prince Edward (The King's youngest brother) "to meet communities and see their preparations for the Coronation," according to a post on the Royal Family's official instagram.

In the post, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh can be seen meeting local school children who waved Union Jack flags in honour of their arrival. Other photos show them chatting with staff and volunteers at a range of community projects and local initiatives.

The King's coronation takes place on Saturday 6 May at Westminster Abbey and will see His Majesty crowned alongside The Queen Consort during a two-hour ceremony. Members of the Royal Family are expected to be in attendance.
