The Duchess of Cambridge opened the Victoria & Albert Museum’s new Photography Centre in London, on Wednesday night, wearing a new dress by designer favourite Erdem.

Kate wowed in the £1395 ‘Iman’ off-the-shoulder embellished boucle-tweed midi dress from the Canadian-born, British-based designer’s spring ’18 collection.

She paired the dress with new, floral hooped statement earrings from the label and teamed the frock with deep purple accessories, including a waist cinching belt and plum velvet pumps from Jimmy Choo.

A full breakdown of the Duchess’s look below:

It marks Kate’s first engagement as patron of the V&A, after being named its first back in March.

The Duchess toured the new display entitled Collecting Photography: From Daguerreotype to Digital, which includes images from the 19th century to the present day.

Kate studied art history at the University of St Andrews, where she met Prince William.

She has expressed her love for photography and has taken portraits of her children Prince George and Princess Charlotte in the past.

The Duchess returned from maternity leave last week, after giving birth to Prince Louis in April. She and the Duke attended the Global Ministerial Mental Health Summit at London’s County Hall on Tuesday.

She added her own artistic touch to an original piece by Dairo Vargas, a contemporary fine artist from Columbia, who created a painting inspired by the day’s events.

The couple are expected to attend Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s wedding on Friday 12 October. Prince George and Princess Charlotte have starring roles as pageboy and bridesmaid at the ceremony at St George’s Chapel in Windsor.
