Dua Lipa's playful pink manicure is Barbie beauty at its finest

Last night's Barbie European premiere saw stars from Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, to America Ferrera and Emma Mackey, take to Leicester Square's hot pink carpet, adorned in sequins, sparkles and, of course, Barbie's signature colour palette.

Among the inspired gowns and ultra sleek slip dresses, you'll find an array of statement beauty looks, Margot Robbie's 1960 'Enchanted Evening' Barbie recreation and Nicola Coughlan's new peach bob, to name just a few. The most covetable nail look of the evening? Dua Lipa's pretty-in-pink take on the traditional French tips.

The minimalist manicure was courtesy of celebrity nail artist Kim Truong, who initially created the look for Barbie's World Premiere in Los Angeles this week. The manicurist took to Instagram to break down the creation and inspiration behind the pop star's playful pink tips.

"We wanted to create a stunning two-tone French manicure for Dua Lipa, capturing the essence of Barbie," she says. "Using OPI Nail Lacquer in Hi Barbie! as the pink base and Alpine Snow on the tips, we achieved a striking contrast. With Dua's elegant clear rhinestone dress, our goal was to bring the ultimate pop of Barbie pink to her look."

The Don't Start Now singer maintained her signature '90s glamour in terms of make-up, sporting little more than a strong brow, bold lashes and a browned nude lip. Her hair was styled simply in a sleek, lengthened ponytail, allowing her maximalist jewellery to take centre stage. The gown itself was courtesy of Versace's Pre-Fall 2023 collection, a chainmail gown of clashing watercolours, a stark contrast from the premiere's dramatic pink carpet.

Lipa's effortlessly replicable manicure was a continuation of this month's covetable pink nail looks, most served by none other than Barbie star herself, Margot Robbie. The 33-year-old actress delivered a similarly minimal two-toned manicure for her appearance at the Seoul press event this month, but rather that the more tradition ballerina and white, she opted for a paler pink base and a hot pink accents. For last night's premiere? She went back to basics with the glossiest of naturally nude manicures.
