Downton Abbey star Jessica Brown Findlay has given birth to twin boys.

The actress shared a sweet photo of herself and her two boys snuggled up on her chest on Instagram, alongside the caption: "5.11.22. Our boys! Remember Remember x".

She received well wishes from fans and famous faces alike, as her former co-star Joanne Froggatt, who plays Anna Bates on Downton, wrote: "Congratulations darling!".

Last Night in Soho actress Thomasin McKenzie commented: "Congrats Jess", along with some red love hearts.

Findlay revealed her pregnancy at the Venice Film Festival back in September, which she attended with her husband Ziggy Heath.

She also shared earlier this year that she and Ziggy had been trying and struggling for a baby and that she had gone though four rounds of IVF.

In honour of International Women's Day, the actress posted a video montage of her taking hormone injections on Instagram, captioning the post: "We do hard things and then go dancing.

"IVF has made me even more aware of just how much women are capable of and what we can achieve whilst going through pain and heartbreak. Your body is not the enemy. Love it. No matter what.

"Sending love and support to every woman I have ever met and all the ones I haven't but know what this is."

Findlay is best known for playing Lady Sybil Crawley on Downton Abbey, and although the character's death meant she couldn't return for any of the period drama's movies, the actress previously said that she was ready to leave the series when she did.

"I was incredibly grateful for what Downton became and did, but it was my second job and I knew nothing about what I was doing," she explained.

"I really wanted to learn more. I had so much more I wanted to go and learn."
