Dolla's Syasya received death threats in the past

3 May – While Dolla as a group had experienced online hate for allegedly copying K-pop group BLACKPINK, it was 20 year-old Syasya who bore the brunt of the backlash for supposedly trying to imitate the group's Thai member Lisa Manoban.

The singer, who appeared alongside her fellow members of the group at an event to launch of their new single, stated that she even received death threats from some BLACKPINK fans for sporting a similar hairstyle as Lisa when Dolla first came out with their single, "Make You Wanna".

"Just because I had bangs, a lot of people compared me to Lisa. Because of that, a lot of BLACKPINK fans were unhappy. At one point, someone even sent me a photo of a bloodied knife," she said.

Syasya added that there were other hate comments that had even affected her mental health.

"But then we learned a lesson. Responding to those comments would only make it worse. So we just ignore the extreme ones," she said.

On the other hand, fellow member Sabronzo stated that the public is more accepting of Dolla's music nowadays, and that they have successfully proven themselves to be different from BLACKPINK.

The group recently released their first ever Eid song, "Raya Raya Raya", which is now available on all music streaming services.
