Dogs reunite on FaceTime in paws-itively adorable scene

Is this the cutest conference call ever?

Sadie and Rollo got close during the pandemic when their owners moved in together. And after Rollo's owner moved out for a job offer elsewhere, the two dogs mostly catch up on FaceTime for Thursday play dates.

If you've been contemplating calling your long-distance best friend for some catch up, here's a heartwarming sign to finally do it! A video of two dogs reuniting via FaceTime has gone viral on TikTok, capturing the hearts of millions of viewers.

The two dogs, Rollo and Sadie, are seen whimpering and howling with joy as they stare at each other through the screens of their owners' computers. Despite being hundreds of kilometres apart, FaceTime has allowed them to see and interact with each other, much to their delight.

Sadie, a husky-German shepherd mix, and Rollo, a rottweiler-shepherd mix, became close friends during the pandemic when Sadie's owner, Kayla McTeer, moved in with Rollo's owner, Caitlin Banks, as her roommate.

However, Banks had to relocate for a new job, and now, every Thursday has been designated as their virtual playdate.

Sadie and Rollo’s friendship history

Reflecting on their friendship, Banks and McTeer shared, "Because we didn't know each other at this time, we were both a bit nervous to introduce our dogs. However, the initial meeting was...pretty cute, to say the least."

It turns out that Sadie's joyful howling and whimpering is a reaction reserved only for meeting her best friend. McTeer shared, "I fell in love with Sadie's personality from the get-go...[Sadie is] constantly vocalising to let me know how she feels - howling or going off on one of her 'husky talks,' which I like to think is her telling me a story."

Video amassing massive likes and views

Since being uploaded on TikTok, the video of Sadie and Rollo's virtual playdate has already amassed over 22 million views and up to six million likes.

Netizens couldn't help but adore the heartwarming friendship between the two dogs, with some even likening it to a "long distance relationship."

“Tell me why these two dogs are better at expressing emotions & listening to each other than most humans,” one user said.

Another said: “They’re really good listeners. I like how they take turns sharing their feelings.”
