From Cosmopolitan

In a Facebook video shared on Sunday, Disney confirmed once and for all that yes, every Pixar film exists in the same universe. The theory has been popular among fans for years but until now, Disney has never offered an official explanation on why certain characters have showed up in other movies.

There's the little girl from Finding Nemo who later showed up as Riley from Inside Out:

There's Sully from Monsters, Inc. making a little cameo in Brave:

OMG it's Lotso from Toy Story 3 in Up!

You don't have to be a character to show up in another movie, as this Ratatouille and WALL-E crossover suggests:

And you don't have to make your Pixar debut in a movie that contains your name. (Monsters, Inc. came out two years before Finding Nemo).

You probably knew all this, right? And you probably only needed this confirmation from Disney and Pixar so you can sleep better at night and have blissful dreams about friendly monsters, talking cars, and fish who suffer from short-term memory loss, right?
