SINGAPORE – The Walt Disney Company celebrated the highly anticipated launch of Disney+ in Singapore with a light show at Marina Bay. Titled A Night of Disney+ and supported by the Singapore Tourism Board and Marina Bay Sands, the celebration featured celebrity music performances and Singapore’s single largest projection mapping show, televised simultaneously on Mediacorp Channel 5, Channel 8 and StarHub’s Hub E-City Ch 111/825.

Hosted by Bobby Tonelli and Nikki Muller, as well as Mediacorp YES 933 DJs Kenneth Chung and Hazelle Teo, A Night of Disney+ commenced with Mickey Mouse releasing a beam of light that illuminated the facades of landmark architecture around Singapore with Disney+ characters before descending into the Marina Bay Sands ArtScience Museum.

There, digital art exhibition Future World: Where Art Meets Science provided a backdrop for popular Singaporean musician, Nathan Hartono. Performing at the Light Ball Orchestra installation, he opened the show with his rendition of 'You’ve Got a Friend in Me' from Toy Story.

Local musicians, Benjamin Kheng and Annette Lee then performed a series of duets at the Crystal Universe, which included 'Beauty and the Beast' (from Beauty & The Beast), 'Reflection' (from Mulan) and 'Part of Your World' (from The Little Mermaid).

International singer-songwriter sensation, JJ Lin, brought the show to new heights by performing at the rooftop of the Museum. The singer presented a medley of Disney classics: 'A Whole New World' (from Aladdin), 'Can You Feel the Love Tonight' (from The Lion King), 'Let It Go' (from Frozen) and 'Embark/ 最 嚮往的地方' (from Soul), with corresponding graphics from the movies projected onto the lotus-inspired roof.

Across the waters at the Merlion Park, Mickey Mouse, Amit Malhotra, Regional Lead of Disney+ in Southeast Asia and Keith Tan, Chief Executive of Singapore Tourism Board (STB) then launched the Grand Finale, a projection mapping show on the iconic landmarks around Marina Bay.

Inspired by the content and characters from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and Star, light projections were intricately tracked upon the façade of the Marina Bay Sands, ArtScience Museum, The Fullerton Hotel, Gardens by the Bay and the Merlion Park.
