Disney is on pace to release at least one live-action remake every year until it runs out of animated classics. Following this year’s Beauty and the Beast with Emma Watson and 2018’s Mulan will be The Lion King in 2019, the studio announced on Tuesday (via Variety). (Disney also announced a second “Untitled Disney Live Action” project for Aug. 9, 2019, along with two coming out in 2020 and 2021). Jon Favreau, who is set to direct Donald Glover as Simba in The Lion King remake, also announced the movie’s release date on Twitter: July 19, 2019, which means yes, you will likely be enjoying the cool breeze of an air-conditioned movie theater while watching Donald sing about how he just can’t wait to be king.

Speaking of the song that basically sees the quick transformation of Simba from a cute BB lion to a hot lion who’s ready to take back his rightful place on top of Pride Rock, here’s a nice little rumor about Simba’s live-action BFFs: Both The Hollywood Reporter and The Wrap are reporting that Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen are currently in talks to lend their voices for Timon and Pumbaa, respectively. If all goes well, I surely hope this means that Timon will be as sassy and shady as Billy’s on-screen persona on Billy on the Street and that Seth’s delightful laugh will be a large part of Pumbaa 2.0. Meanwhile, there's still no word on whether or not Beyoncé has agreed to play Nala in the remake. Come on, Queen Bey. The world needs this.
