Director denies casting Jackson Yee in new adaptation

3 Feb - The team of an upcoming novel adaptation has denied rumours that they have cast Jackson Yee in the lead role.

As reported on Phoenix, on 1 February, director Peng Fei, who is said to soon helm an adaptation of Shuang Xuetao's novel, "The Aviator" took to social media to deny the rumours, saying, "The four-character name is just a rumour. We are still working on the script."

Four-character in this case is Jackson, whose Chinese name is Yi Yangqianxi.

Jackson's most recent work is the Lunar New Year movie, "Full River Red". His last drama was the 2020's "Forward Forever".

Meanwhile, "The Aviator" is Chinese novelist Shuang Xuetao's short story collection, with one of the stories, "Assassinate the Novelist" being adapted by Ning Hao in 2021 and renamed "A Writer's Odyssey".
