Dig into juicy loaded burgers from Hong Kong’s Honbo at CHIJMES

Local fans will no longer need an aeroplane ticket to indulge in Hong Kong’s famed burgers from Honbo. Opening on 28 Jul 2023, the business will be receiving guests at their first-ever overseas outlet in CHIJMES

Maintaining the quality of these drool-worthy constructions is their top priority. Each burger is made a la minute. Basically, come prepared to wait for some time after ordering before the burgers are served. 

With their use of imported beef, the result is perfectly smoked meat patties with a melt-in-your-mouth texture. The kitchen crew also ground the meat fresh in the Singapore kitchen, which creates a deeper beefy flavour.

What is a burger without soft potato buns? Thank goodness we can leave it to the team from Eric Kayser to supply burger buns with an airy crumb and fluffy bite. 

I am already drooling merely looking at their burger menu. Start off with their classic item, Honbo (S$18) which packs 2 perfectly grilled beef patties with cheese. 

My sister, who is a pescatarian, was thrilled when she saw Scallop Burger (S$26) listed on the menu. Not just another fish burger, she thought. Chunky Hokkaido scallops are seared till golden brown with a crispy exterior and succulent meat. 

The natural sweet seafood taste is contrasted with wasabi pico de gallo (a Mexican salsa). Once again, those pillow-like textured potato buns seal in all the flavours. Do note that this special item is only available for 3 months!

Those with a large appetite for food and an even larger appetite for some adventurous eating, The Gold Standard (S$28) is made for you. Apart from the 2 juicy beef patties, Applewood smoked bacon introduces a charred fragrance that is just addictive! 

To leave fully satisfied, complete your meal with their Chilli Fries (S$15) and Buffalo Wings (S$15). I am already making plans to head down to the new burger joint!
