Dickson Yu thrilled to finish marathon five years after heart problem

13 Feb – Dickson Yu is elated to be able to join and finish the 10km race as part of the 25th Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon.

The actor, who participated in a marathon for the first time since he went into coma due to his heart problem in 2018, told the media that he only wanted to participate, and was very happy that he was able to complete it in one hour and 19 minutes.

"It's just that there was heavy rain for a while there, and it was a bit difficult to run in the rain," he added.

When asked if he would join good friend Sisley Choi in the half-marathon next year, Dickson said that Sisley has always been a better runner than him.

"She is trained professionally. I am too much an amateur to keep up," he said.

It was back in August 2018 that Dickson was rushed to the hospital and went into coma after experiencing irregular heartbeat during a football game with friends. Speaking about the situation in 2019, Dickson said that he was lucky to survive the ordeal and learn the importance of knowing one's limits.
