Devin Booker’s Exclusive Air Max-Inspired Nike Book 1 Sneakers Are Actually Coming Out
Since its debut in late 2023, one of the biggest criticisms of Devin Booker’s first Nike signature sneaker has been that some of the Phoenix Suns star’s most desirable colorways haven’t been available to the public. In the nearly two NBA regular seasons that have passed since the shoe first appeared, Booker has worn numerous player exclusive styles that have not been released at retail. Now, slowly but surely, it looks like the tide is changing.
The newest Nike Book 1 to go from player exclusive to retail launch will reportedly be the “Neon” Air Max 95-inspired colorway worn in-game by Booker on Christmas Day ’23—and again two days later. With a mostly gray upper, the “Neon” Nike Book 1 is accented with black and bright Volt green. And with its textile paneling and suede overlays, the Book 1 mimics the gray gradient fade seen on designer Sergio Lozano’s original Air Max 95.

Undoubtedly one of the most popular unreleased Nike Book 1s, Booker has also worn an Air Max 95-inspired version of his sneaker in the shoe’s original “Solar Red” look.
In addition to the “Neon” Air Max 95-informed style, another once-exclusive worn by Booker in March 2024 is expected to be released in March. That pair is inspired by Nike ACG’s Air Mowabb model, specifically the “Twine” colorway.
Most recently, the Book 1 was released in an All-Star Weekend “Black Label” colorway alongside matching styles for Nike Basketball’s other signature stars. Booker’s pair was limited to 1,996 pairs — a reference to his birth year — and featured a black denim upper.
According to Sneaker Market RO, the Nike Book 1 “Neon” is currently expected to be released on Sept. 30, although it’s possible that could change between now and then. The shoe has a SKU of HJ4388-001 and a full colorway of Light Smoke Grey/Volt/Black. Its expected retail pricing is $140.
