Demi Moore is no stranger to the red carpet and the stylish celeb's latest look is a lesson in how - and why - to combine a variety of textures into a seamlessly chic ensemble.

The star was attending the National Women's History Museum Benefit in New York on 24 June and she turned to designer Micheal Kors for her stylish look.

The brains behind Demi's outfit was stylist Brad Goreski and he shared a behind-the-scenes video of Demi modelling the look before she headed out to the event, and shared a breakdown of the look and her glam team.

Demi wore an all gold look, tucking a long sleeve silky shirt into a sequin maxi skirt. To finish the ensemble, Brad added an oversized, matte blazer which also added a third fabric texture into the mix.

Keeping the look monochromatic in the same shade of gold means that not only do all the pieces work perfectly together, but the contrast of texture adds interest and detail for a more modern and dynamic look.

We also love that Demi embraced sparkles for the summer, as long gone are the days when sequins were reserved solely for Christmas. If you're inspired by Demi's stunning designer look, take a look at some of our favourite glitzy pieces from across the high street:
