Deanie Ip expresses support for anti-extradition protest

4 Jul – While some Hong Kong celebrities are keeping mum about the Hong Kong extradition bill, veteran star Deanie Ip recently proved that she has no issue backing protesters and the opposition.

As reported on Epoch Times, the award-winning actress, who has been seen at the march recently - making it her third time this year, stated that she just had to go to the streets with the rest of the Hong Kong civilians to express her protest.

The 71-year-old also praised the younger generation of protesters, who are mostly university students, saying, "I am just an old person. But I have confidence in these young protesters. Hong Kong is truly saved!"

However, she also reminded her younger peers to be careful on the streets, saying, "Keep calm, don't get hurt, and don't get arrested."

Deanie also stressed that the extradition bill should not be suspended temporarily, but be stopped altogether.

"We don't want anything apparent, we want something substantial," she said.
