Will a Deadpool-Wolverine movie really happen?

Wolverine seems hesitant to say yes to a standalone movie with Deadpool.

5 Jan – Ryan Reynolds has no problem portraying the R-rated, foul-mouthed antihero Deadpool for as long as he is allowed to, the Canadian actor admitted recently.

In fact, Reynolds is looking forward to playing the character in more movies, according to Variety, including a standalone movie featuring him and good buddy, Wolverine.

Of course the century-old mutant role has to be played by Australian actor Hugh Jackman, as his name is practically synonymous to the character he's played for over a decade now.

Things may not be on the up and up for the Deadpool-Wolverine big screen tag team, however, as this is what Jackman has to say in response to Reynolds' idea: "I'm hesitating."

"Because I could totally see how that's the perfect fit," he said. "But the timing may be wrong."

Deadpool and Wolverine previously shared screentime in 2009's "X-Men Origins: Wolverine".

Fans, fret not, much like his onscreen persona, Reynolds is not backing down that easily. "I have no ?idea if I can change his mind. It's the audience: I would exclusively exploit that relationship to get Hugh back for another one."

Reynolds hasn't been shy about voicing his intention to bring the two big names on the silver screen. He even revealed to Entertainment Weekly his plan on how to pull Jackman in: "What we're gonna have to do is convince Hugh. If anything, I'm going to need to do what I can to get my internet friends back on board to help rally another cause down the line."

It seems like a little fan persuasion is needed here to get this dream team going. So if you really want to make this happen, get cracking on social media till Wolvy finally says yes to Pooly!

We may not be seeing the super-powered duo onscreen together again soon but Jackman will be reprising his Wolverine role in "Logan", coming into cinemas this 2 March, and Reynolds will be donning the red suit again for 2018's "Deadpool 2".
