Deadpool's Francis continues his villainous streak in "Maleficent" sequel

Ed Skrein will play the Disney movie's main antagonist opposite Angeline Jolie

Ed Skrein will take on the role of a villain in the "Maleficent" sequel to square off against Angelina Jolie.

18 Apr – Ed Skrein is signed to take on the role of a villain in Disney's upcoming "Maleficent" sequel.

Skrein whose fame skyrocketed due to his role as Francis Freeman / Ajax in 2016's "Deadpool", is in final negotiations to play the main antagonist in the Joachim Rønning directed movie, according to Variety.

It is still unclear how his character will fit into the movie as plot details remain under wraps.

The sequel will see Skrein face off against Angelina Jolie as the titular returning character and Elle Fanning who is confirmed to return as well to play Aurora.

Audiences can also see Skrein continue his villainous roles streak as he appears in this year's "Alita: Battle Angel" as the movie's main antagonist.

The 2014 released "Maleficent" marked Angelina Jolie's comeback to the big screen after going on hiatus for four years since 2010's disappointing "The Tourist" and it predictably made big bucks at the box office as it grossed over USD759 million worldwide.
