Dayo Wong denies retiring from comedy for good

5 Jun – Dayo Wong has recently denied reports that he will retire from comedy following the last show of his latest stand-up tour.

As reported on Mingpao, the comedian who appeared at the premiere of new movie, "No. 1 Chung Ying Street" recently, addressed rumours that he has made HKD 100 million from his comedy tour which is enough for him to retire for good.

"I won't dare think about it. I haven't even thought about it. The organiser didn't say anything about the profit, and I haven't confirmed retirement," he said.

Dayo stressed that in his original statement, he only said that he will "put away the mic" and that does not mean he will be retiring for good.

"My shows always talk about sensitive things in a variety of areas. Lately coming up with ideas and practicing has been really tough," he said.

On the other hand, the comedian whose latest movie, "Agent Mr. Chan" did well at the box office, admitted that he would love to do more movies in the future.

"The most important thing would be the character and the script. As I get older, I have become more demanding," he added.
