David Chiang won't say no to son joining showbiz

21 Mar – Hong Kong actor John Chiang has no qualms letting son, John Jr. join showbiz if that's what his youngest son wants to do in the future.

As reported on Mingpao, the veteran actor, who went on Nancy Sit's radio show recently, shared that he has recently paid off the last tuition for his son's studies, and that the 22-year-old - who has been studying at a design academy - will be graduating in summer.

When asked if John Jr. will be joining showbiz just like his father, John stated that he has no idea what his son's plans are.

"He had thought about becoming an artiste in the past. We will not go against his wishes. But though it will be easy for me to bring him in [into showbiz], I want him to do it on his own," he said.

When asked if his son has a talent in acting, John responded lightheartedly, "Not as good as me. But it's hard to say. Let him make a name for himself."

On the other hand, John revealed that he previously signed a 2-year-3-dramas contract with TVB, but has already completed his part of the deal in just one year.

The actor, whose drama "Birth of a Hero" is currently airing, will also have another drama, "Daddy Cool" broadcasting this year. He is also currently filming the medical series, "White Strongman".
