Datuk M. Nasir has no comments about "Nur Nilam Sari" parody song

20 Oct - Legendary musician Datuk M. Nasir doesn't have much to say about the recent viral parody of the Awie feat. Search song, "Nur Nilam Sari".

The musician, who wrote and composed the song, stated that he has no qualms with the parody version, which has the lyrics "Pinjam sinarmu, Nur Nilam Sari" ("Lend me your light, Nur Nilam Sari") to "Pinjam Seratus, Nur Nilam Sari" ("Lend me RM 100, Nur Nilam Sari").

"For me, TikTok is the most influential platform of this era. I don't know when will people get sick of it. There is nothing negative or positive about it. It depends on how people use it," he said.

M. Nasir also added that a song that has been released to the public belongs to the public, and shouldn't be an issue to him.

It is noted that the original song was inspired by his daughter with late wife, singer Junainah Johari, who passed away not long after giving birth to daughter Nurnilam Sari. It is noted that M. Nasir also has a daughter following his second marriage to Marlia Musa.

In related news, M. Nasir is set to hold his concert, "Gendang Pati Live" at the Planery Hall, KLCC on 18 November.
