Damian Lau denies suffering a stroke

21 Jan – Hong Kong actor Damian Lau has recently denied rumours that he suffered a stroke.

As reported on Mingpao, rumours about the 70-year-old actor's health issue sparked recently, after he was seen walking with a crutch at a musical performance on 12 January. Sources claimed that Damian's right leg was weaker than the other, and that some of his fingers could not be completely bent.

It was also alleged that his condition was even worse a few months back, as he supposedly suffered from hand tremor and slurred speech, but declined the offer from a friend who wanted to recommend a doctor to him.

The actor reportedly has been practising qigong for his health, in addition to consulting his own doctors to treat the condition.

However, when asked about it, Damian dismissed the rumours and said, "Thank you for your concern. Rest assured."

On the other hand, Jonathan Wong's manager also denied that the said actor was suffering from stroke, after the two of them met Damian at the recent staging of his musical.

"It's not a stroke, and he is recovering. He comes to every performance and always in good spirit," the manager added.
