Dairy Queen

Choosing your favorite Dairy Queen menu item can be a difficult feat. Between limited-edition Blizzards and shakes or long-standing icons, like the Dilly Bar and Peanut Buster Parfait, everything on the DQ menu will always be delicious. However, one humble ice cream treat always seems to win out: the dipped cone.

It’s no secret that Dairy Queen’s classic soft-serve ice cream is (and always will be) a fan favorite. But, somehow, even more beloved than a vanilla and chocolate twist cone is the magic shell-like dipped cone.

The Chocolate Dipped Cone, available year-round, never gets old, but DQ fans tend to go gaga when a new ice cream coating hits menus. Last year, it was the Churro Dipped Cone and, this summer, we’ve been enjoying the Confetti Dipped Cone. It seems Dairy Queen is already thinking about next summer’s dipped flavor.

Dairy Queen has begun testing a new Cookie Monster Dipped Cone at select locations, according to @snackolator on Instagram.

Dairy Queen Testing Cookie Monster Dipped Cone

The bright blue cone coating, named after the adorable cookie-obsessed monster living on Sesame Street, is a cookies and cream-flavored dip made with real chocolate cookie pieces and creme. So far, the Cookie Monster Dipped Cone has been spotted at a DQ restaurant in Massachusetts, according to a Reddit post.

“Dairy Queen just released a cookie monster cone dip!!! Tastes like Oreo crème with Oreo pieces,” one user posted in a Dairy Queen subReddit.

DQ hasn’t officially confirmed the test—nor would it disclose where the test was taking place—so it’s unclear just how far-reaching the dipped cone is.

“We love when fans share their excitement for DQ treats! We are always innovating our menu to bring new and delicious products and flavors across our treat and food offerings, and as part of that, we sometimes test flavors in select store locations,” Dairy Queen said in a statement to Allrecipes.

You’ll have to check your local DQ to see if the cookies and cream-dipped cone is available. And, if it is, lucky you! You’re part of the test to see if we can all experience the Cookie Monster Dipped Cone at a later date, so the pressure is on.
