Da Peng elated to be nominated at the Hong Kong Film Awards

8 Feb - Mainland actor Da Peng is elated to be nominated alongside other worthy Hong Kong actors at the upcoming Hong Kong Film Awards.

As reported on Mingpao, the Ji'an-born actor, who starred in the lead in the crime drama, "Dust to Dust", found himself being nominated in the Best Actor category alongside big names like Tony Leung Chiu Wai, Dayo Wong, Lo Chun Yip, and Bowie Lam.

"I am pleasantly surprised to be shortlisted," said Da Peng, when asked about the nomination. "As a fan of Hong Kong films, the annual HKFA is the most important thing in my memory. Today, I am lucky enough to be a part of it."

Da Peng said that Hong Kong movies have deeply influenced and shaped him, and he is thankful to the organiser for making his dream came true.

Directed by Jonathan Li, Da Peng plays the role of Chen Xiwen, a construction company owner who decides to mastermind a robbery in order to raise funds for the Guilong Bridge project.

The movie co-stars Gordon Lam, Zhang Songwen, and Xi Qi among others.
