Da Peng doesn't think he'll win at the Hong Kong Film Awards

7 Mar - Being nominated for the first time at the Hong Kong Film Awards, sole mainland nominee Da Peng (or Dong Chengpeng) doesn't think he has the chance to win.

As reported on Mingpao, the actor, who appeared at the audience appreciation event of the movie "Dust to Dust" of which he was nominated for, said that he couldn't wait to participate in the physical event as someone who has been influenced by Hong Kong films since childhood.

"I am honoured to compete in the Best Actor category. But my plan is to take as many photos with actors and behind-the-scenes people as many as I can, especially with Dayo Wong," he said.

Asked why Dayo of all people, Da Peng said that he loves the standup comedian and would love to tell Dayo himself.

As to whether he has any confidence in winning Best Actor, Da Peng, who will be competing with the likes of Tony Leung Chiu Wai, Dayo Wong, Bowie Lam and Siuyea Lo, said that being nominated is good enough for him.

"I am not particularly confident when the other nominees are very strong. I am already very lucky to be nominated. Thank you for liking 'Dust to Dust'," he said.
