Cui Yongyuan is happy claims about yin yang contract was true
8 Oct – Although he previously apologised to Fan Bingbing for dragging her into the tax scandal mess, TV host Cui Yongyuan seemed to be "sorry not sorry" when he went online to express his thoughts about the actress' recent punishment.
As reported on DW News, on 3 October following news that Fan has been fined millions of yuan for lying about her fees, the host went online and posted, "The fact proves once again that ["Air Strike"] was a big fraud. At present, one person has been punished for participating in that scam."
At the same time, some Chinese netizens are now applauding Cui and regarded him as a "hero" for exposing the tax evasion problem in the Chinese entertainment industry, with some suggesting that the authorities should lock Fan up.
It was only back in June this year that Cui apologised to the actress for getting her in trouble with the authorities.
The investigation into Fan's financial matters was triggered because of Cui's previous Weibo post, in which he alleged that an actress has signed a yin yang contract - a type of contract in which a party signs multiple documents for the same job to avoid paying hefty tax.
At the time, Cui said that he didn't expect the state government would get involved, saying that he only shared the screenshots just to get a clarification from "Cell Phone 2" director Feng Xiaogang and his screenwriter Liu Zhenyun, and not to drag Fan into it.
