28 Feb – After the blunder she made in the topic of police brutality in Hong Kong, Crystal Liu was more careful in her latest interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
The actress, who recently sat down to promote Disney's live-action remake of "Mulan", was less opinionated about the issue when asked about it, saying, "I think it's obviously a very complicated situation and I'm not an expert... I just really hope this gets resolved soon."
When pressed for answers, she reiterated, "I think it's just a very sensitive situation."
As for what she thought about the #BoycottMulan controversy which sparked after she expressed her support for the Hong Kong Police Force amid the months-long protests, Crystal replied, "It would really be a loss for me if I let the pressure overtake my possibilities."
It is noted that neither the actress nor Disney had ever actually responded on the matter following the controversy, though Crystal did cancel her appearance at the 2019 D23 Expo soon after.
