"Creation of the Gods 2" delays summer '24 release

20 May - Although the sequel to the hit 2023's "Creation of the Gods: Kingdom of Storms" is scheduled to be released during the summer this year, director Wu Ershan recently had to break the bad news to fans of the movie.

The movie will not be ready for the summer after all.

Sharing the news on social media, Wu said that they have decided to delay the release of the sequel due to the complexity of the postproduction works, especially in terms of special effects.

Wu stated that due to the success of the first movie, they have decided to up the ante when it comes to the special effects of the second film, to make it more sophisticated. This, he said, will require more time and effort.

Based on the Chinese mythology of "The Investiture of the Gods", the first film, starring Yu Shi, Fei Xiang and Huang Bo among others, narrates the fantastic and fictitious version of the political fallout following the ascension of the last king of Shang dynasty.

Earlier, it was revealed that the second part is to be released in summer 2024, following by the third movie in 2025.
