"The Conjuring" stars saddened by Lorraine Warren's passing

22 Apr - Ed and Lorraine Warren are the husband-and-wife duo whose paranormal investigations inspired James Wan's "The Conjuring" horror movie universe.
Ever dedicated to their work, Lorraine continued investigating on her own even after Ed died in 2006. However, last week brought sad news to the Warrens' fans, friends and family because, as Vera Farmiga puts it, Lorraine is "waltzing with Ed now".
The paranormal investigator passed away at age 92 last Thursday night in the United States, as revealed by her grandson Chris McKinnell on Facebook the day after, saying that she went "quietly and peacefully".
"My dear friend Lorraine Warren has passed. From a deep feeling of sorrow, a deep feeling of gratitude emerges. I was so blessed to have known her and am honored to portray her," Farmiga tweeted along with photos of the two of them.
The actress has been portraying Lorraine since 2013's "The Conjuring" and has reprise the roles several times in subsequent sequels and spinoffs.
Meanwhile, Patrick Wilson who plays the on-screen Ed, posted a photo of him and Farmiga with the paranormal investigator, captioned, "The heavens will surely burn a little brighter tonight. We lost a friend and inspiration. I will miss the stories, the laughter, and the guidance. Rest In Peace, Sweet Lorraine. Tell Ed I said hello."

Of course, James Wan also offered his condolences, though his is on Instagram since he is no longer on Twitter following his surprise exit from the social media platform last month.
Along with a photo of him and Lorraine on the set of "The Conjuring", he posted: "For someone who spent her whole life dealing with the afterlife, she gave me the impression she was never fazed by death.
"My condolences and love to her family. There'll never be another Lorraine Warren. She was truly one of a kind.
"She's with Ed now. In heaven. Onto their next adventure."
Wan's first movie that revolves around the Warrens follows the married couple's involvement in the haunting of the Perron family in Rhode Island. Its success gave birth to the now ever-expanding "The Conjuring" franchise, which so far consists of two spinoff series, "Annabelle" and "The Nun".
