Coffee Lam happy to find success post-TVB scandal
13 May – Although it seemed that she had lost her opportunity for success when she was fired from TVB over her scandal six years ago, Coffee Lam might be having the last laugh, now that her YouTube channel has amassed millions of followers - making her one of the biggest YouTubers in Hong Kong.
As reported on Mingpao, the former TVB actress who sat down for an interview recently, admitted that she felt at loss at first when she had to leave TVB over a "bathroom tryst" scandal with a male friend in 2014, especially since she had planned to make acting her long-life career.
"When I left, I was confused and felt like I was driven out of home. To make ends meet, I found a way by getting a yoga instructor license. It turned out to be the best job I have ever had and I was happy to be able to show my personality through my then new career," she said.
Coffee stated that while 90 percent of her social media followers were men in the past due to the scandal, now the majority of her online followers are female who are interested in yoga and sports.
"It feels great to help others feel food at the same time. To gain support and trust is the greatest satisfaction for me," she added.
She was also successful in her personal life, having been married to her husband and giving birth to her first child in 2018.
Speaking about her life now, the "Triumph in the Skies 2" actress said, "If happiness is a hundred points, I think I have achieved a hundred points. To find my other half, being loved, and having a son, I feel very happy. I used to feel so insecure, but now I have a lot of motivation."
