Claudine Barretto denies illegal adoption

6 Feb – Claudine Barretto recently dismissed allegations that her adoption of eldest daughter Sabina had been illegal.

As reported on Push, the actress who spoke about the matter during a press conference with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for Adoption Awareness Month, stated that she knew who has been spreading the rumours, though mums the identity.

"They have an adopted child too, but what they don't know is, I have a close relationship with DSWD, because I have done social work for the longest time," she said.

Barretto stressed that she wouldn't even make it to the event if her adoption process had been illegal.

It is noted that the actress has been appointed by the department as one of its ambassadors of the "Adopted Ako Proud Ako" campaign.

Aside from Sabina, Barretto has two other adopted children; Quia and Noah, and one biological child, Santino, with ex-husband Raymart Santiago.
