Okay, this might actually be the *most* dramatic season of The Bachelorette ever. Things are not looking good for Clare Crawley in the ABC reality show’s new promo. It seems like some of Clare’s guys are turning on her and not buying into the whole “here for the right reasons” trope. And it looks tense.
“This is not a secret. I’m here to find love,” Clare says in the beginning of the video. But not everyone’s convinced. One guy admits, “I expected way more from the oldest Bachelorette.” WTF. Another says, “She can’t fool everyone forever.” Which, like, WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?! And then someone else adds, “You’re everything fake. You’re a completely different person.”
My jaw is on the literal ground rn. That’s a lot to process even for Bachelor Nation. Shading her age? Thinly veiled threats? Straight up insults? Well, I guess drama should be expected from the season that will replace the lead during the show (hey, Tayshia Adams!). Clare even explained how different her season will be.
“It’s different in the best way possible, Chris,” Clare said during The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons—Ever! (Note: Clare’s interview was shot before production started—aka she hadn’t yet quit the show and been replaced by Tayshia.)
She continued, “I want somebody who is not excited about traveling to the wonderful locations, which is great and awesome to be able to go do those things, which I’ve done before. But this is more of what I’m looking for—just one-one-one connection or multiple connections. And just having the time to get to know each other way better and not having to focus on anything greater than that. It’s the most important thing.”
Rumor has it that Clare is already engaged to her contestant, Dale Moss, so it looks like all the drama really did pay off!
