"Chungking Express" producer Chan Pui Wah passed away

2 May - Celebrities are in mourning again, this time for the death of noted film producer, Chan Pui Wah.

As reported on Mingpao news, the producer, known for producing dramas and movies such as "Her Fatal Ways", "Chungking Express" and "A Simple Life", was revealed to have lost her battle with cancer and other related diseases on 28 April.

Chan, who was diagnosed with lymphoma three years ago, had previously undergone treatment to stabilise her condition, and had since recovered from her health issues.

However, good friend Virginia Lok shared that her condition gradually deteriorated in recent months. Her friends and family had also been visiting her prior to her passing.

Lok shared that while friends and family might have not been willing to let her go, Chan herself was ready to meet the Maker and had known that the day would soon come, and made the decision to go into hospice care on her own.

She was 68.
