Chu Pak Hong says HKFA nomination is a good start

5 May – Chu Pak Hong is not at all affected by the fact that the director of his own movie, Norris Wong has not voted for him to win Best Actor at the Hong Kong Film Awards.

As reported on Mingpao, the actor who plays the lead in Norris' "My Prince Edward", stated that he also shared the director's state of mind when it comes to nominations, that he is still new in the film industry despite his 20 years in theatre.

"I only made the jump from stage to film two years ago. Being nominated is already a great start," he said.

When Norris commented that he made the jump to films a bit too late, Chu said that nobody approached him to star in a movie for the past 20 years.

"I am not sure if saying that I made the switch too late is correct, as there are some who said that actors don't start until they turn 35. I am 37, so I think it's okay," he said.

On the other hand, the aforementioned filmmaker said that she was very objective with her voting responsibility and decided to vote for "Suk Suk" star Tai Bo instead. As for Chu, the actor said that his pick for Best Actor would be "Better Days" star, Jackson Yee.
