Chu Ke-liang too weak for chemotherapy

30 Mar - Rumour has it that Taiwanese entertainer Chu Ke-liang has been taken off chemotherapy due to his weak physical state.

As reported on Tencent, the actor's deteriorating health made the news late last year when it was reported that his bowel cancer has spread to other areas of his body.

Chu, who was diagnosed with stage II colon cancer back in 2014, previously declined to undergo surgery for his condition as he would need to have an artificial anus and an attached feces collecting bag to him after the surgery. Saying that it would give him much difficulty to work, he opted for treatment through Chinese traditional medicine.

His condition deteriorated soon after, and he finally decided to undergo surgery. However, it was later revealed that it was too late, and the cancer has already spread.

So far, Chu has already undergone chemotherapy five times since being diagnosed, but with no apparent changes.

It was reported that one week ago, his physician issued a critical notice that Chu can no longer undergo chemotherapy due to his physical weakness, and is currently in the stage of hospice care.

Sources also claimed that family members are now beginning to consult funeral matters.

When asked about this, Chu's manager Su Rui-hang said that the company is temporarily not in contact with his family, and doesn't know the exact situation.
