Chu Ke-liang passed away at 70
16 May - After much speculations, it was confirmed that Taiwanese entertainer Chu Ke-liang has passed away.
As reported on Focus Taiwan, the comedian, who reportedly has been in hospice care since March, died of liver failure on 15 May at the National Taiwan University Hospital (NTUH) in Taipei.
Chu, who had been diagnosed with the aforementioned disease since 2014, chose not to receive surgery due to his hectic schedule, but finally did back in September 2016.
By that time, however, the cancer had already spread all over his body. It was later reported that he was taken off chemotherapy because of his weak disposition, and had since been entered into hospice care.
Later in the same month, it was revealed that estranged daughter, singer Jeannie Hsieh returned to Taiwan to reconcile with Chu, and promised to take a time off to care for her father.
It was just last week that his attending physician denied rumours that Chu has passed away.
His body has yet to reach the funeral home at the time of writing.
He was 70.
