Christopher Downs says TRO prohibits him from discussing divorce

20 Aug - Christopher Downs has finally broken his silence regarding the court granting his and Phoebe Huang's divorce by telling his followers that there isn't much that he can say.

Sharing a photo of him tending his garden on Instagram on 18 August, the former TV personality expressed, "Dear friends, thank you all for your concern and support. I have a restraining order prohibiting me from discussing the case."

Christopher, known as Xia Keli in Taiwan, stated that he could be tried in criminal court and possibly jailed in Taiwan if he goes against his TRO (Temporary restraining orders), which is why he cannot respond to any media reports about the divorce.

"The published ruling does not appear to assign fault to either party, but instead points to irreconcilable differences in the marriage, but we'll have to wait for the full verdict to be completely sure. Thank you again for your trust in me during this time," he added.

It was on 14 August that the Shilin District Court determined that the relationship between the couple had seriously broken down and thus, the divorce was granted.

Phoebe and Christopher had been together for 16 years before their relationship had taken a sharp turn. They decided to file for divorce in July 2022.
